Commissioned especially for World Science Festival Brisbane 2016, Curios? brings together contemporary artists whose imaginations are stirred by the mysterious beauty of museum collections.

Whether resurrecting almost-lost Indigenous weaving techniques, or acknowledging the potential for new and more culturally appropriate approaches to environmental theories and cultural histories, the rich heritage preserved by museums is given central importance in these contemporary art practices.

Curios? pays homage to our enduring fascination with museum collections, and explores how their systems of knowledge might inform research into the future.
